Every year, the world produces 270 million metric tons of Chemicals of High Concern (CoHCs). Estimates show that up to 90% of them have been used in the petroleum-based plastics industry, including both BPAs and phthalates. The principles of Green Chemistry are designed to change that by encouraging the development of chemical products and processes that reduce or eliminate the use of hazardous materials.

At Solegear, we use Green Chemistry principles to ensure no chemicals of concern are introduced into our plastics. By removing chemicals that are either untested or already known to potentially cause harm to our health and the environment, we’re creating safer products that can be part of a truly sustainable bioeconomy.

Solegear uses California’s respected Proposition 65 to screen for chemicals of concern that have been identified as potentially hazardous to human health and the environment.
