Solegear’s plant-based office products ranked as one of the top 10 innovative products to win Europe’s most prestigious environmental award

 

November 25, 2015— (Vancouver, BC) Solegear Bioplastic Technologies Inc. (TSX.V – SGB) is very pleased to announce it has been selected as one of 10 final projects to receive a GreenTec Award in 2016, one of Europe’s largest environmental award organizations.

 

GreenTec Awards look for the most innovative and sustainable projects of the year. The competition takes place under 12 categories, including Automobility, Construction & Living, Bike, Energy, Lifestyle, Communication, Aviation, Production, Recycling & Resources, Travel, Urbanization, Water & Sewage.

 

Solegear’s recently released desk and office organizer products made from 85% plant-based materials have been selected as a contender in the Production category, in which nominees are evaluated according to their innovative, holistic approaches to material and energy efficiency, plus reduction of environmentally damaging byproducts in the production process.

From the top 10 projects, three finalists will be chosen on February 24, 2016 – two by jury and one by online voting. The online voting process will begin on December 8, 2015 on the ProSieben, WirtschaftsWoche Green, and GreenTec Awards websites and continue until January 13, 2016.

 

The jury will choose a winner in each category and announce the results at the opening gala for the IFAT trade fair in Munich on May 29, 2016.
